Vasquez Rocks in October

I've driven by Vasquez Rocks so many times, and finally had the chance to go. It was a pleasant day in early October, about 80 degrees with a light breeze. The orange colored rocks absorbed the afternoon sun and bounced light off of one other in such a radiant way.

The contrast of the orange rocks with the blue skies made for such a fun way to fill the frame.

Notice the light bouncing off of another rock and creating a beautiful glowing fill light.

Brent told me that this area is a place where pilots practice flying.

This is such a tranquil and inspiring place to explore. I highly recommend a daytrip here as an escape from Los Angeles.
